When I was a child, I was scared every time I saw the pictures of Cendrawasih (Indonesian language for Birds of Paradise/ Cicinnurus magnificus). I found it like… a lady with a glamorous dress. And she changed the dress with other fancy dress only with different colors.
Cendrawasih, is the symbol of beauty of Indonesian island of Papua, their habitat. They live in tropical forests, including rain forest, swamps and moss forest in the deep of Papua province.
Birds of Paradise are generally crow-like in general body-form, and, indeed are the brother group to the Corvids (crows and jays).
They have stout or long bills and strong feet, with around two-thirds of the species being strongly sexually dimorphic. There are different kinds of Cendrawasih found in Papua, and trust me, none of the names are memorized by me, so you go to wikipedia for details.
