Indonesia has been doing very well in sport recently. after achieveing four gold medals and putting Indonesia in 13th position in Asian Games, the national football team made an amazing achievement by starting AFF champion with a back-to-back winning. then, two Indonesian Boxers, Chris John and Daud Jordan won their title after beating their opponents.
Chris looked every bit as sharp as he outpointed Argentina’s Fernando Saucedo to keep the World Boxing Association featherweight super championship in Jakarta.
More than a year had past since he last fought and put his title on the line, but Chris didn’t show any rust in his first bout since September 2009.
Two judges scored it 119-109 and a third had Chris winning all rounds at 120-108. Chris’s record now stands at 44-0-2.
Chris had boasted of developing power on his punches, but none of his hits appeared to have hurt a game Saucedo (38-4-4).
The Indonesian, however, used superior footwork and stayed aggressive throughout the 12 rounds to get the judges’ nod at Gelora Bung Karno Indoor Tennis Stadium.
“I had to get my mind focused on beating him, not knocking him out. When I started going to my strengths, that was the key I think,” Chris said.

Indonesia went two-for-two on the night, as Daud Yordan knocked out Damian David Marchiano of Argentina in the first round of their World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific title bout.
The 23-year-old Daud, who is being groomed as the country’s next boxing superstar, hit Marchiano square to the body and the Argentinean never got up.
The end of the bout was timed officially at 19 seconds.
Daud, a native of West Kalimantan, now has a 27-1 record, with 21 knockouts.
