Lion Air Flies JAY JAY Route

Lion Air Flies JAY JAY Route

Finally, the news comes. Lion Air will start serving Jakarta – Jeddah route (heheh… I call it ”Jay Jay Route”) on 28 June 2009, using wide-bodied Boeing B747-400. This is going to be Lion Air’s first big aircraft and 3rd overseas destination. This is part of Lion Air’s expansion plan, where it is said to have acquired license to setup in-country operation in Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. (Hey, Philippine is missing here, trust me, they are in dire need of transportation investment).

However, seems like the global downturn has halted Lion Air’s ambition, but I am sure, the plan is still on place, only slower in execution.
