I met this ‘creature’ many times in my childhood, even until now, I can still find it in my hometown in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I never realized that it attracts scientists’ attention so much. This animal flies from trees to trees and climbs up at it with incredible speed.
I am not sure of the scientific name for this animal, in my village, it is called Cleret Gombel. It does look like a dragon without the fire blow coming from its mouth :p

In Temanggung (my hometown)..it’s called ‘klarap’..
When i was kid i loved to catch it and blow it’s mouth..and it’s body and it’s fins/wings became like balloon…(blowed up)
But now i don’t teach my kid to that…., it can kills the ‘klarap’..
People in my village call them “Klarab”
But, its difficult to find them nowadays.
Yeah Klarap, I think that’s what people call it in Malang, di desanya mbah hehe…
