Blogger Antyo Rentjoko received BOBs Award in 2010, the biggest international award to webloger, podcasts, and videobloger.
Antyo received the award in the International Conference, Global Media Forum in Bonn organized by Deutsche Welle, one of Germany’s biggest television station.
BOBs is a competition for the bloggers which have started since December 2009 until February 2010. The winners were announced in Berlin, Germany on 15 April.
Antyo, who is well known as Paman Tyo (Uncle Tyo) by his fellow blog readers, is the winner of Best Weblog category B with his blog, blogombal.org. This blog is judged to have good language, systematic, unique, and as well as witty. “I came to receive the award,” said Antyo when he was met on the sidelines of the conference.
The award for the Best blog fell to Ushahidi, a Kenyan origin blog managed by a team formed by people originating from African and United States. This blog provides information from areas that are experiencing crises and disasters.
Other winners include bloggers from United States, Russia, Iran, Brazil, Jordan, Bangladesh, China, and Spain. About 8300 blogs competed in this competition based on recommendation by internet users worldwide.
