Merantau is an Indonesian martial arts film released on August 2009, introduces a variant of Silat called as “Silat Harimau” (Tiger Silat) and a Minangkabau (an area in West Sumatra, Indonesia) tradition called as Merantau (wandering about).
This film had been released in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, and as far as I recall, it got satisfactory response. Merantau got international achievement too, where it received Audience Award, Honorable Mention at Fantastic Fest 2009 in Texas, and only few days ago, it is awarded as the Best Film 2010 at ActionFest 2010 in North Carolina.
Way to go, Champ!

I agree this movie has pretty neat action scene. But the story is bland. And as I recall it doesn’t have any ‘Minang’ music in the scoring, it would be a nice addition.
