Pindad’s Anoa Drawing Interests

Pindad’s Anoa Drawing Interests

Many months ago, GNFI posted something about many versions of made-in-Indonesia panzers. Many countries have shown their interest in purchasing this armored vehicle. Recently, Oman, Nepal, Malaysia, and some other countries bought hundreds of Anoa 6×6 panzers made by Pindad (Perindustrian Angkatan Darat / Army Industrial Wing). Malaysia has even ordered 50 more units, yet turned down due to production limit.

Indonesia has set a plan to revitalize its aircraft industry especially for military purpose. Soon, you’ll see N250 flies around over this tiny globe. Hope so!

Indonesia could make trains, planes, ships, and armored. But why can not we make a simple means of transportation such as cars and motorcycles. I’m sure making cars and motorcycles it is easy for our engineers. Still waiting for the national car traffic on the streets of our country

    @ Aji

one reason why we are not capable of making simple land transportation like car and motorcycles are mainly because we are lacking the support technology to mass produce those type of vehicles.

one of the examples of support technology are the machines, we are still unable to locally produce the machines in Indonesia. FYI the “anoa” panzer machines are imported from Renault in France. not to mention other support hardware like the “electronic fire control unit” for the panzer, we also import it from other country.

actually, we do have the “Texmaco” factory which specialize in producing machines for trucks and van. but the Texmaco went bankrupt in 2000-2002.
