As many as 19 companies have expressed their interest to be involved in Indonesia’s Tax Administration Reforms Project (PINTAR). These foreign companies come from South Korea, Hong Kong and Spain.

The PINTAR program is an effort to reform the administration of the finance ministry system tax system.

According to Robert Pakpahan, director of business transformation, a meeting with the potential investors took place last November. “In February next year, they will submit their proposals,” Robert said today.

According to Robert, the Tax Directorate General will study the proposals and determine the winner of the PINTAR bid. The contract signing can be done in July next year. Afterwards, the preparation for the project design can be done immediately. “We will also discuss with the winning company the design and system that we want and what would be the best course of action,” he said.

The PINTAR project was first conceived in 2007 when Darmin Nasution served as the tax director general. “It is intended to reinforce the tax system,” said Robert.
