Batam`s Junior Red Cross Rated Best at Asia-Pacific Jamboree

Batam, Riau Island – The Batam chapter of the Indonesian Junior Red Cross (PMR) was selected as the best teenage contingent at the “Youth and Volunteer Camp Asia Pacific Jamboree” in Malaysia recently, a PMR spokesperson said.

The Batam city`s PMR contingent was considered to be the most active and friendly during the event that was attended by more than 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, said Nurmilasari, head of the contingent, here on Friday.

The election was conducted through questionnaires among about 2,500 participants of the jamboree organized by Malaysia`s Crescent and took place in Kelantan, Malaysia.

“The questionnaire results showed that the Indonesian contingent was hospitable and most active in participating in the jamboree`s programs,” she said. (B003/B/HAJM/21:40/H-YH)
