Last week we revealed Modus Anomali and Rectoverso as the opening and closing-night films of the 8th Indonesian Film Fesitval. This week we proudly present the second and third day of screening, we present to you Hello GoodbyeThe Stockbrokers (Sang Pialang), and The Heart of Jakarta (Jakarta Hati).

April 27 | Day II


Hello Goodbye


On day two of the festival, following the opening-night screening of Modus Anomali, festival-goers can see Hello Goodbye brought to life at ACMI Cinemas. Set in Busan, South Korea, Hello Goodbye is the story of an unlikely romance that begins between two people who meet far away from home. More than just a romance, the film deeply explores the two protagonists and their divergent life views. Hello Goodbye is rich with conflict, life lessons, and love.

Written and directed by Titien Wattimena, Hello Goodbye features award-winning cinematography, and a soundtrack by Korean singer Eru. The film had its world premiere at the 2012 Busan International Film Festival.

April 28 | Day III


The Stockbrokers (Sang Pialang)

On the third day of screening: a story that takes place in the workplace: The Stockbrokers (Sang Pialang). Competition sparks between three friends who work in the same firm, and their situation is further complicated by a love triangle. The Stockbrokers shows us how fierce competition can be when it comes to career, money, and romance; how it has even the power to ruin a strong bond formed by years of friendship.

Directed and produced by Asad AmarThe Stockbrokers features actors Christian Sugiono (Jakarta UndercoverSaus KacangRasa), Abimana Aryasatya (Catatan Harian Si BoyDilema), and Kamidia Radisti (The Tarix Jabrix 3). Through The Stockbrokers, director Asad Amar wanted to give insight into the world of stockbrokers – a world that is rarely the subject of film.

The Heart of Jakarta (Jakarta Hati)

On the third day of screening, following the screening of The Stockbrokers, will be The Heart of Jakarta (Jakarta Hati). This omnibus film consists of six short films, all tied together by their shared setting: Jakarta. Still Exist (Masih Ada) revolves around a snobby politician who has to take public transport to reach his office, instead of his usual luxury car. Familial problems are presented in The Good News (Kabar Baik), where a police officer is unexpectedly reunited with his father. A poor screenwriter goes to his son’s rich friend’s party in Hadiah (Gift), which shines a light on the social and economic gaps that exist in the capital city. In the Dark (Dalam Gelap) tells the story of two people who are drifting apart because of technology, but then begin to mend their relationship during a blackout. In The Others (Orang Lain), a woman tells a man that his wife is having an affair with her boyfriend. The final story, Darling Fatimah, is about a cake seller who sells cakes at a dawn market and her rough conversation with her lover.

The Heart of Jakarta has a star-studded lineup featuring Asmirandah, Agni Pratistha,Shahnaz HaqueSurya SaputraAndhika Pratama, and veteran Roy Marten.

She is also the producer of Modus Anomali, a famous movie released in 2006.

    Just my two cents: ….. Kalo bisa sih, jangan hanya film2 baru Indonesia yang dipromosikan ke luar. Film2 lama Indonesia juga enak ditonton lho. Ingat Tjoet Nyak Dien, Warkop, dll.
