“Dream Came True” for Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Indonesia vacation with her family in May was a “dream come true”, she wrote on her Goop blog.

The Oscar-winning actress made the trip in May with her Coldplay singer husband Chris Martin and their young children Moses and Apple.

She was blown away by how different the Asian country was to her native America.

“A dream of mine came true when I travelled to Indonesia for the first time,” Gwyneth revealed on her website Goop.

“Never did I imagine that we would run our hands through the dark ocean at night and watch it light up with phosphorous, see a Komodo dragon in the wild, swim over a massive sea turtle, or be taught to make native dishes in situ.”

The 40-year-old spent four days around the archipelago where they got to know locals and were served freshly cooked food.

She explained the history of the area to readers of her blog and revealed how friendly her guides were.

“Before we set sail off the coast of Labuana, Nasir, one of the crew members who also built the boat, performed an Indonesian ritual for safe passage,” she wrote.

“Nasir turned out to be a total rockstar – singing, dancing and tandem water skiing with me.”

The thespian wasn’t the only family member to be blown away by her ideal vacation.

Apparently her son got very creative while taking part in some rituals.

“When we would arrive at a new beach, we would all spend 20 minutes picking up the debris that had washed up on shore,’” Gwyneth shared. “Among the refuse are small brown glass bottles, which seem to be everywhere.

“At the end of the night we lit giant rice paper lanterns and sent them off with a prayer. Moses is now a pyro thanks to this particular evening,” she mused.
