Indonesia has once again won the Gold Award of the International Hong Kong Flower Show which is being held in Hong Kong from March 7 to 16, 2014, an Indonesian diplomat said.

“The Gold Award is the highest one in the annual flower show,” Indonesian Consul General in Hong Kong Chalief Akbar told ANTARA News here on Sunday.

He said that the Hong Kong Flower Show was a means for Indonesia to promote its culture, tourism and agribusiness potential, namely flowers.

“Since the show was held for the first time, the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong had cooperated with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in promoting different flowers and cultural potentials of the various provinces in Indonesia which are designed in the forms of landscape and decorative product,” Chalief said.

In the event, which is being held at the Victoria Square, Indonesia displayed the products from Tomohon City of North Sulawesi.

Tomohon City in the show used a 8×8 booth decorated with various types of flowers, including the kalanchoe flower which is used as the theme of the show.

President Director of the Taman Bunga Nusantara flower park Darmasto Kusumaningrat said that since the organizing of the Hong Kong Flower Show event six years ago, Indonesia has always won the gold award.

“This is something that should be pride of and make us and the Indonesian people in general happy,” he said.
