President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono bestowed the title of national hero and other honors on several deceased freedom fighters, artists and cultural activists who made significant contributions to the nation, at an award ceremony at the State Palace on Thursday.

National Hero Title recipients:
1. The late Moluccan freedom fighter Johannes Leimena.

2. The late Papuan freedom fighter Johannes Abraham Dimara.

Mahaputera Adipradana Star Award recipients:

1. The late writer Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran AA Mangkoenagoro
2. The late freedom fighter Sayyid Idrus bin Salim Al Jufrie from Southeast
Sulawesi.
3. The late writer Raden Ngabehi Ronggowarsito.

4. The late humanitarian Prof. Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana.

What these heroes did are hard to describe. they do deserve awards for the contributions they had made for Indonesia, but awards aren’t enough. we should appreciate their works by doing the best for Indonesia.
