I refer to my converzation with someone who misspelled Fokker as Focker, and it led me to write this article.

Fokker, a Ducth aircraft manufacturer, is undoubtedly one of world’s major aviation manufacturer besides Airbus, and Boeing, and it is one of the oldest one (been manufacturing aircraft since 1912. It has long lagging behind Boeing and Airbus in filling the world market, and now has a stiff competition with Bombardier (Canada), and Embraer (Brazil).

Not only producing commercial aircraft, it also participated in building jet fighters with the US.  It has also entered the aerospace sector since the 70’s. Over 100 types of aircrafts have been developed and produced by Fokker (40 types were produced and used during and for World War I). Garuda Indonesia was once the loyal customer of Fokker by the use of legendary Fokker F-27s, and F-28s from the 70’s to mid 80’s.

Various airlines from every corner of the world use Fokker for their fleets.
