FYI, Fokker went into bankruptcy in 1996, maintenance and repair work were taken over by Stork Aerospace (now Fokker Aerospace Group). KLM who were also loyal customer of Fokker aircrafts officially withdrawn all of its Fokker fleet in March 2010 (last week actually).

Fokker, a Ducth aircraft manufacturer, is undoubtedly one of world’s major aviation manufacturer besides Airbus … not IS, but WAS. Indeed, it made many good planes: F27, F28. During WW1, as the Netherlands was neutral, Fokker supplied the German Luftwaffe with Fokker D’s series. The rumor was that the Dutch government approached IPTN to sell Fokker assets in order to save it. (Cool, IPTN-Fokker BV ))) But, Habibie did not see any interest.
