Turkish Airlines opens route to Jakarta. Yeah. Turkish Airlines introduced its flights from Istanbul to Jakarta, Indonesia starting about a month ago, September 30th, 2009. The five flights weekly will operate from Istanbul to Jakarta on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday and from Jakarta to Istanbul on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. With the flight expansion programme, Jakarta is the 119th international destinations which are also marked as the first flight destination in Indonesia.
This is also the sign of sound economic growth of both countries, to which many economist say will be major world powers by 2030. GNFI believes that emerging economies like Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, really need to boost ties. Direct flight is one good way.

more routes shows signs of good macro development… however i hope that the government will aggressively push for more visa free countries for the holders of indonesian passports as (according to wikipedia) the number of countries that can be visited is quite limited.
