World’s First Square Melon

Indonesia has successfully introduced the world’s first square melon. Mekarsari Tourism Park, a breeding and agronomy garden, claims that this square melon is treated manually, not genetically engineered. The square fruit is created by hand using a cardboard box to maintain its square shape. Inspired by the Japanese square watermelon, this melon is also said to have better taste and crispier than the regular melon.

And it’s quite pricey for a melon. It’ll make you reach deep in your pocket for a price up to $7/lbs. It should be massively available this month.

This square melon could also be a help for packaging efficiency.
