yeah! Well, when talking about "potentials", Indonesia has loads of them. It's our job to convert this potential into prosperity. In energy sector for example, despite of huge potential of geothermal, biomass-energy, hydropower, and not to forget the tropical sunshine all over the year, only 65% of Indonesian households are electrified. Lots to be done guys!

*pardon the grammar

another source of power that we have a lot of is river... i'm not suggesting to build a dam (that's not really enviromentally friendly) but underwater turbine (kind of look like wind turbine but with smaller body and blade)... the technology is still new (couldn't find it in wiki, i suggest google it!!). but it's something we should consider since many of indonesian population life evolve near a river :D

That's an interesting point about "not exporting geothermal energy". I mean, maybe that's the way it should be. We have to use all that resource for our benefit. Beside, being an oil exporter tend to make the people lazy and backward (I don't know, just look at those arab countries). Instead we have to find ways to maximize the utilization of our energy resources, let them bring their plants / manufacturing / etc over here (where the energy is).

Geothermal is an energy source which is not exportable. This should be the most advantage point compared to Oil, Gas and Coals.
Another advantages are plenty resources, cheaper, cleaner, renewable and environmental friendly energy....
